01 · Checklist anatomy
Every line needs six fields.
Record the location or work item, governing drawing or specification, responsible reviewer, check and acceptance basis, evidence, status and release. Add date, revision and signature or approved digital record.
- Location and work package
- Current requirement or reference
- Installer and reviewer
- Check or test method
- Evidence and result
- Release, rejection or corrective action
02 · Stage gates
Inspect before the next work hides the evidence.
Build project-specific lists for survey and mobilisation, excavation and foundations, reinforcement and concrete, masonry and envelope, waterproofing, concealed plumbing and electrical work, finishes, carpentry, external works, testing and handover.
- Pre-construction information gate
- Pre-pour structure gate
- Pre-cover waterproofing and services gate
- Sample and mock-up approval
- Pre-payment measured-work review
- Commissioning and handover gate
03 · Nonconformance
A failed item needs an owner and disposition.
Record the requirement, observed condition, evidence, affected area, immediate protection, responsible decision-maker and proposed action. The responsible professional must approve repair, use-as-is or removal where within their scope. Reinspect and close with evidence.
04 · Handover index
Turn scattered checks into a usable record.
Compile approved drawings and specifications, material and sample records, pour and curing logs, waterproofing and service tests, electrical test sheets, equipment commissioning, snag close-out, authority documents, as-built information, warranties and operation manuals.
05 · Homeowner use
Ask for visibility without pretending to certify.
A homeowner can ask which inspection is due, who is responsible, what reference applies, whether evidence exists, which item remains open and whether payment includes it. Technical acceptance stays with the appropriately appointed reviewer.
