01 · Scope
Name the prevention and treatment route.
Constructional measures, pre-construction soil treatment and treatment of an existing building are different scopes under current BIS records. Survey the site and building, then produce a marked treatment and inspection plan.
- Termite and moisture observations
- Constructional barriers and detailing
- Pre-construction treatment zones
- Existing-building access and drilling limits
- Timber damage and separate repair scope
02 · Hold points
Inspect before each zone is covered.
Coordinate site clearing and removal of roots, timber, formwork and cellulose debris. Agree hold points at foundations, backfill, under-floor areas, wall-floor junctions, service entries, perimeter and apron. Record any missed, washed-out or disturbed area before the next work proceeds.
03 · Record
Keep the product and application traceable.
The handover record should identify the licensed operator, treatment date and zone, registered product and label, batch, documented quantities, photographs, weather or site interruptions, repaired disturbances, warranty and exclusions.
- Marked treatment plan
- Operator licence
- Product registration and label
- Batch and application record
- Pre-cover inspection photographs
- Warranty, maintenance and exclusions
04 · Limits
Treatment is not indefinite or self-repairing.
Later trenches, pipes, extensions, leaks and untreated landscaping can create new routes. Treatment does not repair structurally damaged timber or solve dampness. Plan periodic inspection and require new work to preserve or reinstate the agreed protection.
