02 · Furniture and rugs
Plan clearances from the actual product footprint.
Draw the open position of doors, drawers, recliners, dining chairs and sofa beds. Rugs should support the furniture group without creating curled edges in circulation. Carpet or rug selection must respond to cleaning, allergy, acoustics, pets, moisture and replacement.

03 · Colour
Test combinations in the room's real light.
Build a small palette of background, fixed material, furniture, textile and accent. Review samples beside existing floors and under daylight and evening lighting. Colour value and contrast affect legibility; not every surface needs a competing feature.

04 · Storage
Count objects before drawing cabinets.
Sort storage by frequency, weight, size, privacy, ventilation and point of use. Keep everyday items within easy reach, heavy items low, cleaning equipment separated, suitcases and seasonal items measured, and service panels accessible.
