01 · Water

Confirm source, demand and storage together.

Check BWSSB network availability, alternate-source legality, connection point, household demand, storage, pump access, pressure zones and water quality before locating the sump and tanks. A borewell requires the current Karnataka Groundwater Authority process where applicable.

02 · Rainwater

Design capture, overflow and maintenance.

Separate clean roof catchments from contaminated runoff and sewage. Coordinate first flush, filtration, storage or recharge, overflow, safe access and desilting. BWSSB's current page states rainwater-harvesting mandates for certain existing and proposed site sizes; verify the current rule against the actual property and application.

03 · Storm water

Use levels before pipe sizes.

Survey road crown, site levels, neighbouring flow, drain inverts and low points. Keep surface runoff away from foundations and below-floor spaces without sending sewage into storm drains or creating nuisance on neighbours and public land. Protect natural or mandated drainage reservations.

04 · Sewer or treatment

Prefer the authorised connection where available.

Confirm the receiving sewer and invert before freezing the building outlet. Where an STP, dual plumbing or environmental consent is required, coordinate process, space, power, odour, sludge, reuse, trained operation, sampling and service access. On-site sanitation without sewer is a professionally designed and authority-approved alternative, not a DIY pit.
