01 · Shop drawing
Resolve the room and assembly before cutting.
Approve dimensions, substrate, material and grade, thickness, joints, grain, edges, hardware, backing, anchors, access panels, lighting and service interfaces. Use a coordinated appliance, fixture and equipment schedule.
- Measured finished opening
- Plan, elevation and section
- Board, timber, finish and edge schedule
- Hardware and load information
- Wall backing and anchorage
- Electrical, plumbing and ventilation interface
02 · Moisture and product
Fix the cause before enclosing it.
Inspect active leaks, damp substrates and wet construction before delivery or closure. Record storage and conditioning. Request the exact product's standard or grade, test report, safety data and technical data rather than relying on smell, colour or a generic sales name.
03 · Mock-up
Approve one representative difficult part.
The mock-up should include a corner, joint, edge, door or drawer, hardware, lighting detail and access panel. Sign the visible finish and functional standard. Define project tolerances from the specification and approved sample rather than an unrelated universal number.
04 · Pre-close and handover
Keep anchors and services visible in the record.
Photograph backing, anchors, wiring, access routes, fire stopping and moisture condition before closing. Do not conceal boards, junction boxes, valves, traps or controls. Handover approved and as-built shop drawings, product schedule, labels, reports, warranties, care information and spare finishes.
